Lanka Challenge Terms & ConditionsTeamsTeams may comprise of between two and three individuals. Each tuk tuk has a maximum capacity of three people (one driver and two passengers). Each tuk tuk may only be used by one team for the entire duration of the Challenge. Team members are responsible for their own medications, vaccinations, and for providing confirmation of any and all medical requirements prior to the start of the event. Drivers & PassengersEach driver must be in possession of a local (own country) and International driving license. Each driver must present his Challenge entrance number and international identification to the Challenge organizers before he/she can compete. Any passengers that you wish to bring with you in the tuk tuk must be fully funded as a team member. Minimum & Maximum AgeAll drivers and passengers must be at least 18 years of age. LARGE minority does not enforce a maximum age limit as such – nevertheless LARGE minority strongly recommends that any participant over 60 years of age first confirm their eligibility for the type of medical insurance required to participate. The entire round trip itself can be very exhausting, strenuous and demanding. Therefore participants you should only take part in the event if they are in good physical shape and favourable health conditions. Health & Safety WarningThe Lanka Challenge is a grueling adventure and can be considerably demanding on the human body. Driving in Sri Lanka can be both physically and mentally strenuous and at times can be relatively dangerous. All participants (drivers) be fully aware of their surroundings at all times and hence are required to have all of their senses in working order. LARGE minority has the right to reject, ban and/or suspend any driver who is deemed unfit to drive/participate in the Lanka Challenge at any time. Waiver & Release DocumentIn order to participate in the Lanka Challenge each participant must agree and sign a legal waiver & release document upon receiving their tuktuk in Sri Lanka. LARGE minority reserves the right to reject (without compensation) any individual unable to sign and agree to the terms & conditions set on this document. Descriptions / RouteThe information contained on the Lanka Challenge website, collateral or similar is correct at the time of print. However, the content or format of the Challenge may change slightly until it commences. LARGE minority will not accept any responsibility for unforeseen events in the course of the Challenge that fall beyond the remit of its competence and influence. No personal loss or injury can be accepted from events resulting in the application of information from this website. Payments & RefundsPayments for the Lanka Challenge should be made as per the payment schedule stipulated on our website. Entrance fees are non-refundable as stipulated in the cancellation policy agreed on at the time of registration. Maintenance and RepairTeam members are solely responsible for any fuel costs, repairs, and any other costs associated with their event vehicle. Upon collection of the tuk tuk at the start of the Challenge, all maintenance responsibilities lie with the team. Upon the instance of a breakdown, the teams will be responsible to procure the services of local mechanic, or contact the support staff who will provide the in-house mechanics services for an additional surcharge. In the event of a breakdown that cannot be repaired on-site, the service vehicles will transport the tuk tuk to the days end stage, where an overnight mechanic will be arranged at additional cost. All tuk tuk´s are provided in full roadworthy refurbished condition, and it is the responsibility of the teams to maintain it. In the event of an accident, participants are obliged to - pay in full - any damages inflicted on the vehicle. AccommodationThe organizers and managers of the Lanka Challenge will do their best to guarantee the room type (DBL / TWN) requested by participants, however this will be subject to availability. Sponsor RelationsTeams are required to respect the sponsors of the event and all sponsorship material presented during the course of the Challenge. Sponsorship material may be displayed on your team’s tuk tuk at any point during the event. Local InteractionAs a team member in an international event, you will need to respect the various customs, traditions, and cultural differences that you may encounter at any point in your journey. Blatant disrespect for these customs, traditions, and cultural differences will result in the disqualification of the team.
